What is constitutional facial acupuncture?
Your face is the manifestation of your overall health and wellbeing. When something is occurring in the body or the mental-emotional sphere, this appears on your face. In order to establish lasting health, the foundation for true radiance and beauty, we work with the body as a whole to address any imbalances.
What happens in a typical session?
- We begin by discussing your overall health and well-being. We run through the body systems to assess the state of the different pillars of your health and identify any imbalances.
- We start by using acupuncture points on the body to tap into deeper levels of your body’s Qi and Blood, balancing the mind and the body in preparation for needling the face
- We use ear points to calm the nervous system
- We needle the face using origin and insertion points to relax the facial muscles, increase circulation, and boost collagen
- You rest
- After removing the needles, we finish with soothing facial gua sha and light body massage
- You leave glowing from the inside out
How many sessions will you need?
- Most patients will begin to see noticeable results after 5 sessions.
- In order to create lasting change, 10 sessions are recommended.
- It is recommended to come for treatment at least once a week.

More about facial acupuncture
Facial acupuncture works to increase skin health by creating microtraumas in the local tissue that stimulate collagen production, initiating pathways that reduce inflammation, increasing circulation, and helping to diminish fine lines, scarring, discoloration, skin irritation, and/or acne.
Body points are used to work on underlying issues that impact skin and tissue health. These constitutional points address concerns such as fatigue, stress, digestion…etc. This specific method of facial acupuncture, The Wakefield Method, focuses on using origin and insertion points in facial muscles to relax the muscles, increase circulation, and encourage elasticity.
